Lore & Background

Passione was founded on a philosophy of peace through order, but contrary to some claims, no strict prohibition on drug trafficking or harm to children is established in canon. When Diavolo secretly engaged in narcotics and targeted Trish Una, Giorno—driven by his own moral conviction to end the drug trade and save Trish—led a rebellion. The war was not about enforcing a pre-existing code but about forging a new future, pitting the ambition for change against the fear-driven stagnation of the old guard. Stand abilities became the primary weapons in this struggle, with Gold Experience representing life's potential against King Crimson's erasure of time.

In Their Own Story

Venice rain slicked the cobblestones as Giorno stepped forward. The air smelled of salt and betrayal. Behind him stood the ghosts of his fallen comrades, their wills burning brighter than the neon lights reflecting in the canal. He knew the man before him feared death more than anything else. But Giorno had come to offer a different kind of end—one where dreams could actually reach the future.

Reader's Guide

The conflict begins when Giorno Giovanna infiltrates Passione to change the organization from within rather than destroy it. Tasked with protecting Trish Una, he discovers her father is the Boss himself and that Diavolo plans to sell her for drugs. Bruno Bucciarati leads a squad of Stand users against this order. After Bucciarati sacrifices himself to protect Giorno's resolve during an ambush by the Boss's loyalists, the remaining members continue the mission to Venice alone. They face assassins sent by the Boss while uncovering the truth behind his identity and the nature of his Stand power. The war culminates in a final confrontation where Diavolo attempts to erase reality itself to survive. Giorno awakens a new form of power that forces the enemy into an infinite loop of failure, securing victory for the rebels and establishing a new era for Passione under a leader who values human life over fear.
