In *Stone Ocean*, set in 2011, Jotaro Kujo visits his daughter Jolyne in prison and gives her a Stand arrow that awakens her Stand. He informs her that a disciple of Dio (Pucci) framed her to get to Jotaro. When Jotaro attempts to break her out, the frame-up is revealed to be a trap. In the prison parking lot, Jotaro is ambushed by a Stand named Whitesnake, who extracts his Stand as a disc, putting him in a medically unresponsive state. Jolyne later recovers Jotaro's Stand disc and memories, already knowing that Whitesnake's user is Enrico Pucci, a priest who visits the prison. Jotaro eventually recovers his Stand and memories and arrives at Cape Canaveral separately, where he is killed by Pucci before he can effectively help Jolyne and her group. Using Made in Heaven, Pucci kills Jotaro first, then kills Jolyne and the others later. Jolyne's sacrifice allows Emporio Alnino to survive and ultimately kill Pucci using Weather Report's Stand.

Jotaro Kujo's Stand, Star Platinum, is first mentioned in the source as being stolen by Whitesnake during a confrontation at Green Dolphin Street Prison. This leaves Jotaro in a medically unresponsive state. Jolyne Cujoh, his daughter, later recovers his Stand and memories, allowing him to rejoin the fight. At Cape Canaveral, Jotaro arrives to help Jolyne and her group against Enrico Pucci, who has evolved his Stand into Made in Heaven. During the battle, Pucci kills Jotaro using Made in Heaven, accelerating time and wiping out the Joestar bloodline as revenge for Dio. Jolyne's sacrifice allows Emporio to survive and ultimately kill Pucci.
